Summer 2009 - July 6-August 3, 2009 - four (4) week closure
Before Improvements:
A new school building is located on the northwest corner of the intersection. The school building was to be open for the 2009-2010 school year beginning in August 2009. The road was 14 feet wide and would not meet the current level of service needed for school bus movement and traffic flow.
Improvements Completed:
WCEO was the permit authority in this project which was designed to improve safety by widening Stephens Road to about 21 feet and adding a left turn lane at Stephens Road and at the proposed Zoar Road entrance to the new school. The project improvements will also included re-profiling 400 linear feet of Zoar Road just north of Stephens Road to improve sight distance.
