Fosters-Maineville Road and Butterworth Road Intersection Improvements
The Warren County Engineer is working on a project to improve the intersection of Fosters-Maineville Road and Butterworth Road. Currently, the high accident intersection has limited sight distance for traffic turning off of Butterworth Road onto Fosters-Maineville Road and for traffic turning left off of Fosters-Maineville Road onto Butterworth Road. Fosters-Maineville Road will be realigned to the south to improve the intersection sight distance to the required ODOT standards. A retaining wall will be added along the south side of the road to accommodate the realignment. A left turn lane will also be added on Fosters-Maineville in an effort to eliminate rear end accidents and to improve sight distance for left turning vehicles. Currently the project is in the design phase, which is being completed by Henderson and Bodwell for $92,950. Construction, which is estimated to cost $700,000, is planned for the future depending on available funding.
Columbia and Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Bridge/Intersection Improvements
The intersection is functionally obsolete for the high truck volume entering the Lebanon Commerce Park. The project will involve realigning the intersection, replacing the bridge, widening Columbia to 3-lanes, and adding a left turn lane on Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road for turning traffic headed north on Columbia. The total project cost is estimated at $1,400,000. Funds are being allocated from the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) Grant, the Warren County Engineer, and the City of Lebanon. The project design has been completed by Burgess & Niple our consultant. Advertisements for bid will be submitted upon acquisition of right-of-way. The project’s construction is scheduled for the spring and summer of 2011.
