Chamberlain Road Improvements
The Warren County Engineer is assisting Franklin Township on a project to improve Chamberlain Road near the intersection of Morningstar Road. A new concrete box culvert will be installed across Chamberlain Road at the Morningstar intersection, and the roadway will be widened to improve safety. A new retaining wall will also be added on the north side of the road to help prevent future erosion. The project engineering, which is being funded by the Warren County Engineer in the amount of $40,000, is being completed by JWCI Jones Warner. The construction of the project, which is estimated to cost $320,000, is being funded by the Franklin Township Trustees and a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission. The project is anticipated to advertise for bids in the spring, with construction being completed by the end of summer.
Drake Road Widening
The skewed three-way intersection of Drake Road at Old SR 122 will be realigned to have a right angle. In addition, the alignment of Drake Road will be adjusted and widened, from the intersection, south to the Turtlecreek / Clearcreek Township Line. The project is estimated to cost $570,000, which will be funded by a Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) Grant, the Warren County Engineer, and Clearcreek Township. It has been designed by the Warren County Engineer’s Office. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2010.
Greentree Road Improvements
Currently Greentree Road, between Shaker Run Blvd. and Meadow View Lane, has a large hump in the road causing poor sight distance. The WCEO has plans to make vertical and horizontal profile improvements to Greentree Road. The project is estimated to cost $750,000 and is being funded by the Warren County Commissioner’s Highway Safety Fund. The consultant for the project is Bayer & Becker, Inc. with advertisements for bid scheduled for June 2010.
Mason-Montgomery Road Northbound Add Lane
This project is located within one of the most congested areas of southwest Ohio. The project will include the widening of northbound Mason-Montgomery Road along the east side between Fields-Ertel Road and Parkway Drive in order to provide an additional northbound lane. The existing pavement markings between the I-71 northbound off ramp and Fields-Ertel Road will be modified to allow it to function as a combination #8220;through and right turn” lane. The total estimated cost of the project is $1,604,500. The project consultant is Kleingers and Associates, Inc. The project is funded by a Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) Grant, the Warren County Engineer, and the Hamilton County Engineer. The project design is essentially complete pending a traffic study review by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and utility relocation. The advertisement for construction bids are anticipated for this spring with construction completed by November of this year.
Socialville-Fosters Road and Columbia Road Intersection Improvements
Improvements at this highly congested intersection would involve adding left-turn lanes on Socialville-Fosters Road. The signals will be adjusted to include protected left-turns on the north and south approaches. Minor profile adjustments will also be made to correct some uneven pavement. The project’s total cost is an estimated $900,000. The project will be funded by the Warren County Commissioner’s Highway Safety Fund. The consultant on the project is PE Group. Advertisement for construction bids were submitted in July. The construction project will begin this summer and be completed this fall.
BRIDGE / CULVERT
Western Row Road Bridge #54-4.17
Bridge #54-4.17 is in need of rehabilitation as the existing deck and beams are deteriorating. The bridge will have the existing 24 foot wide deteriorated steel beam/concrete deck with a 28 foot wide steel beam/galvanized metal deck utilizing the existing concrete abutments. The project is estimated to cost $225,000. The project will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Advertisements for bid will be submitted when an adjacent intersection improvement project and the right-of-way acquisition process is complete. Construction could be as early as the end of this summer. The bridge is located on Western Row Road between Columbia Road and Northgate Drive in Deerfield Township.
Kings Mills Walkway Demolition #150-0.10
The abandoned walkway structure is to be removed over Grandin Road at the Kings Mills Technical Center. The concrete structure has been deteriorating over the last several years. The project is estimated to cost $19,524. The project will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Demolition could begin as early as March of 2010. The structure is located on Grandin Road between the Little Miami River and Striker Road.
Concrete Bridge Repair Project
This project consists of repairing concrete abutments and piers on seven bridges located on various county road located in Warren County. The project is estimated to cost $90,000. The project will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Construction could be as early as April 2010.
Morrow-Woodville Road Culvert #24-3.03
Large Culvert #24-3.03 is in need of replacement as the existing concrete arch and headwalls are deteriorating. The existing bridge will be replaced by force account with a precast concrete box culvert. The project is estimated to cost $85,000 and will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Construction could begin as early as May of 2010. The culvert is located on Morrow-Woodville Road between Bindley-Mounts Road and SR 28.
Zoar Road Bridge #153-4.80
Bridge #153-4.80 is in need of replacement as the existing concrete bridge is deteriorating. The existing bridge will be replaced by force account with a precast concrete box culvert. The project is estimated to cost $100,000 and will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Construction could begin as early as July of 2010. The bridge is located on Zoar Road between Fredricks Stand and US 22/SR 3.
Lytle-Ferry Road Bridge #135-0.48
Bridge #135-0.48 is in need of replacement as the existing concrete bridge is deteriorating. The existing bridge will be replaced by force account with a precast concrete box culvert or an aluminum box culvert. The project is estimated to cost $75,000 and will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Construction could begin as early as August of 2010. The bridge is located on Lytle-Ferry Road between Lytle Road and Elm Tree Road.
Dry Run Road Bridge #81-0.05
Bridge #81-0.05 is in need of replacement as the existing concrete bridge is deteriorating. The existing bridge will be replaced by force account with a precast concrete box culvert. The project is estimated to cost $75,000 and will be funded by the Warren County Engineer. Construction could begin as early as September of 2010. The bridge is located on Dry Run Road between Lebanon Road and Snook Road.
