Strout Road Bridge Closure Over Little Miami River in Salem and Washington Townships

Published 03/06/2017

Lebanon, Ohio – Salem and Washington Townships – Today, Monday, March 6, 2017, Strout Road Bridge (#207-0.02) over the Little Miami River will be closed until the scheduled bridge rehabilitation project can be completed in the fall of 2018. The early closure prior to construction is due to the rapidly deteriorating condition of the bridge. The bridge was previously posted for load limits under the Ohio truck legal limits on March 8, 2016. During the summer of 2014 the Warren County Engineer’s Office applied for and received State funding for the bridge rehabilitation project. Since the project is receiving State funds, the Ohio Department of Transportation programmed the project and scheduled construction for 2019. Recently the Engineer’s Office was able to work with the Ohio Department of Transportation and move the construction bid date up to December of 2017, with construction expected to begin in April of 2018.

The closure will be between the Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road and Gilmour Road intersection and Woodward Claypool Road. The detour for the closure will utilize Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road, SR 123, US 22/SR 3, and Middleboro Road.

Safety is a priority as we work to maintain and provide our county’s transportation network. Thank you in advance to the traveling public for their patience.
