Bridge #196-1.01 is in need of rehabilitation as the existing concrete box beams have deteriorated to a point where the bridge is currently posted for reduced loads. The bridge will have the existing deteriorated pre-stressed concrete box beam deck replaced with a new prestressed concrete box beam deck utilizing the existing concrete abutments. The new box beams will be fabricated utilizing new technology with carbon fiber composite cables as part of a County Pilot Project through the County Engineer’s Association of Ohio. The total project cost is estimated at $425,000. The project construction will be funded by state funds from the Federal to State Funding Exchange for Local Bridge Replacement Projects and local funds from the Warren County Engineer. The project is currently being designed by Barge Design Solutions and is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2023. The bridge is located on Edwardsville Road west of Osceola Road in Harlan Township.
